Parag Mantri
Engineering Manager, Mustang, Mumbai
Mustang brought me in two years ago as lead engineer-instrumentation here in Mumbai, with an additional assignment as lead engineer-electrical. Today I am engineering manager, because this is the kind of company that acknowledges and rewards good performance.
We have conducted a major revamp of the BG India Panna Process Platform and its satellite platforms offshore. The work is almost done. This brownfield project offered us increased challenges. Understanding the challenges and reducing the risks of re-engineering were keys to our success.
We actively engage our sister Wood Group companies to enhance our service capabilities based on our clients’ needs. This enables me to be exposed to other technical aspects of our company and our industry. I am stretching myself and my team in terms of knowledge.
I love the quality of the people here, their passion to learn. All thinking is welcome – there’s little distinction between employee and manager. And since I am moving up in the organization, I get exposure to new tasks like business development and project management.
Finally, work-life balance here is unique in my experience. Mustang events not only help us work well together but involve our own families in the company’s life and activities. They keep taking care of people absolutely. Next I want to move into operations management – I know Mustang and Wood Group will support my goals.
