Early Careers

Our early careers programmes are for people of any age with little or no experience in the oil & gas industry. The entry route may be straight from school, college, university, another industry, nuclear or armed forces.

The success profile for early careers is built on ability and willingness. You will demonstrate enthusiasm, passion, competency for the job and be a good cultural fit for Wood Group.

The early careers program at Wood Group is a journey of learning and development. You will drive your career and we will support you by offering opportunities that allow you to stretch and gain understanding of the wider business.

We are powered by our people and so are looking for the best and brightest individuals to join our organisation.

We offer a range of programmes in locations around the world for students and recent graduates looking to begin their careers in the oil & gas and power generation industries. Ready to start work in the real world or looking for an alternative to university? We offer a variety of different apprenticeship opportunities to school and college leavers in some of our different businesses.

In the UK we offer a number of apprenticeship opportunities mainly on the Upstream Oil and Gas Technical Apprentice Programme (OGTAP), through the ECITB. This is a four-year apprenticeship scheme, where the first two years are spent at college obtaining a HNC in either mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering.

A career as an upstream oil & gas technician is like no other. Mentally and often physically demanding, it offers serious responsibility combined with the exhilaration of working offshore.

Applications for this scheme should be directed via ECITB by following the below link

Visit the ECITB website for more information and to apply:

Our Apprenticeship Programme for 2016 is now closed.
