Frequently asked questions

Is the certification application included in the course price?

Yes, the AINDT examination and application are both included in the course price.

The course includes course handouts, training material, AINDT certification examination and application, morning tea and lunch (except for the AINDT examination session), and tea, coffee and juice every day.

General

Can I attend a category 1 course with no industry experience, or if I don’t have enough work experience to apply for full AINDT certification?

To apply for certification, you will need to attend the training and successfully pass the Wood training examination as well as the AINDT certification examination. You need to have accumulated between 6 and 12 months of verifiable work experience.

These hours can be accumulated before and/or after the course over any period.

Can I attend a category 2 course if I haven’t completed the category 1?

The general rule is that you don’t need the full category 1 certification to attend a category 2 course, however you must complete the hours of training for category 1 before you can attend the category 2 training. In some extraordinary cases, AINDT could consider you for Mature Candidate Entry, where candidates may apply for direct entry into categories higher than category I.For more information, please contact us.

Do you offer online training sessions?

We don’t offer online classes at the moment. All our courses are delivered in person, at our Wood offices in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne. Other locations upon application.

AINDT certification examination

Do you have to do the certification examination?

You don’t have to do it; however, it is strongly recommended. This examination will qualify you to apply for the full AINDT certification, which is an internationally recognised third-party certification.

What happens if I can’t attend the certification examination on the last day?

If you can’t sit the examination at the end of the course, you have a year to do it. We hold examination sessions once per month, and there won’t be any additional costs to attend a different session. Please contact us to book a different examination session.

What happens if I fail the AINDT certification examination?

You will have to book a re-sit examination; additional fees will apply in that case. Please contact us for more information.

When will I get my AINDT examination results?

It takes around one month for the AINDT committee to review examinations and applications. They will contact you directly on the email address you provided on your AINDT form.
