SOCAR STAR DCU Expansion Project
After successfully increasing the capacity to 120%, SOCAR refinery identified the DCU as a main refinery bottleneck unit in the complex, specifically during frequent online spalling of the DCU heaters.
In collaboration with Wood, SOCAR identified the main goal of the revamp to increase the DCU capacity to 130% (even during spalling of the heaters). An innovative heater revamp solution was studied and implemented, along with other unit upgrades.
SOCAR and Wood will provide a joint presentation about their successful DCU Revamp Project, including the results after implementation. SOCAR will also present the commissioning and start-up of the heater revamp without shutting down the unit.
